Ronnie McDowell IN CONCERT
The always great Ronnie McDowell returns once again to the world
famous Armour's Hotel for a concert the evening of Friday, July 19th at our
historic hotel here in Red Boiling Springs. Ronnie will also be at The Plaza
Theater in Glasgow, KY (just about 35 miles away) on Saturday evening.
The Friday concert is at 8:00pm ... tickets are only $40/person for each
show ... and may be purchased or reserved by e-mailing Allen Coker (cokerscore45@yahoo.com)
... or by calling or text messaging Allen at (615) 448-8926. Tickets are
limited and should be pre-paid wherever possible to Ronnie McDowell LLC,
3128 Tyree Springs Rd, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Although our
hotel is fully booked insofar as rooms, reservations for 6:00pm dinner for
either or both evenings may be made by e-mailing us (
armourshotel@yahoo.com ) or by
calling the Armour's Hotel at (615) 699-2180. If you do intend to dine with
us, please let us know ahead of time so we know how many guests we need to
plan for!! We have plenty of room for dinner guests. Rooms are

(615) 699-4069. Several of their rooms have been recently remodeled !! They
have plenty of room !!

American Picker Meets Palace Pickers
Mike Wolfe of the popular History Channel favorite American Pickers
was recently in Red Boiling Springs to visit his friend Mike Silvio, owner
of Cyclemos. If anyone speculates that residents of long term care
facilities may not stay abreast of current events, that was put to rest when
Wolfe appeared at The Palace. Silvio’s wife, Jennifer is an RN and Staff
Development Coordinator at The Palace and suggested the visit. What started
out to be ‘drop in’ kind of visit turned into an extended photo op for
residents and staff who recognized one of their favorite TV celebrities.
“We’d hesitate to guess how many pictures were made of Mike with residents,
patients, and teammates,” said Jayne Hinson, Activities Director. “Many of
the folks here were ‘pickers’ long before Mike was born. They love the show
and watch it without fail.”
New Book Now Available
"Simple Pleasures," a history of Red Boiling Springs during the resort era
of the 20s and 30s, is available from Vision 2020. All funds raised from
this sale go to the Red Boiling Springs Heritage Museum Fund. The price is
$8 and may be purchased at Macon Bank and Trust RBS and Main Lafayette
branches, The Armour Hotel and Grandpa's House.
